How to prepare Broccoli with Lemon

Cut the broccoli into florets.

Trim and peel the stems, then cut into 1/4-inch crosswise slices.

Heat 1 inch of water in a pot large enough to hold the steamer rack or basket until boiling.

Place the broccoli on the steamer rack and spread the florets on top.

Salt the boiling water, place the rack in the pot, and steam covered until tender.

Place the broccoli in a serving bowl.

Add 2 tablespoons of lemon juice, half of the zest, and the oil.

Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Mix quickly to combine and serve hot.
