Shepherd's pie II

Shepherd's pie is a traditional dish with its roots in British cuisine, although it has been adopted and adapted in various Latin American countries. In some places, especially in Mexico, it is known as "meat pie with mashed potatoes" or simply "meat pie". In other countries in the region, it may have more local names or variations depending on the available ingredients and culinary customs. This dish is characterized by combining a base of stewed meat with a creamy topping of mashed potatoes, forming a complete and comforting meal.

The popularity of shepherd's pie lies in its versatility and how it can incorporate practically any type of meat, in addition to various vegetables and spices. Its British origin dates back to the need to use up leftover meat and vegetables, thus creating a nutritious recipe that has survived the passage of time, adapting with local flavors in each region.
