Salted milk cookies

Salted milk cookies are a delicious and simple snack that has its roots in ancient culinary traditions, especially in regions where milk and dairy products are abundant. This type of cookie has become popular in several Latin American countries under different names and variants, adapting to local ingredients. In some places, they can be found simply as "milk cookies," while in others they are known as "salted crackers," reflecting their characteristic flavor that combines the smoothness of milk with a salty touch. This recipe is highly appreciated for its crunchy texture and light flavor, ideal to accompany with tea or coffee for a snack.

In New Zealand, for example, where milk is a fundamental ingredient in the diet, these cookies are a classic that have been passed down from generation to generation. The recipe we present today comes from Doreen Randal, originally from Wanganui, and is a true tribute to the tradition of simple but exquisite homemade cookies.
