Mom's popcorn balls

Popcorn balls are a traditional sweet that has accompanied many generations in various regions of Latin America. These balls, also known as "corn balls" or simply "popcorn sweets," have their origin in the combination of homemade pastry techniques and the use of simple but delicious ingredients. In countries like Mexico, they are enjoyed as a sweet snack that evokes family memories and festivities, while in other Latin American nations they may vary slightly in preparation or name, but maintain the essence of turning popcorn into a crunchy and sweet treat.

In Argentina and Uruguay, for example, they are usually called "corn balls," while in Colombia similar versions can be found during fairs and celebrations. Despite the differences, the tradition of preparing these balls with ingredients like sugar, butter, and popcorn has remained alive and is a symbol of home cooking that brings families together around the table.
