French cheesecake, known in France as "Gâteau au fromage" or simply "Cheesecake", is an iconic dessert that has conquered palates worldwide. Its origin dates back to ancient Greece, but it was in France where this recipe acquired its most delicate and creamy version. In various Latin American countries, this dessert may have different names, such as "tarta de queso" or "quesillo", although each variant presents differences in texture and ingredients. The French version stands out for its smoothness and sponginess, achieved thanks to the incorporation of cream cheese and double cream, which distinguishes it from the traditional denser and more compact cheesecakes found in other regions.
