This dish, which has its origins in Europe, especially in France and Great Britain, has been adopted and adapted in numerous countries. In Latin America, it goes by different names and variants depending on the region. For example, in Mexico it is commonly known as "puré de papa", in Argentina and Uruguay simply as "papa pisada" or "puré", while in Colombia and Venezuela it retains the name "puré de papas".
