How to Make Chicken and Broccoli Lasagna
To begin, melt the butter and add the flour to prepare the base for the sauce. Then, add the milk and whisk until the mixture is smooth. Incorporate the chicken broth and cook while stirring constantly until the sauce thickens.
In a separate bowl, beat the eggs and add a small amount of the prepared sauce. Then, combine this egg mixture with the rest of the sauce. Add the Parmesan cheese and seasonings like salt, nutmeg, and red pepper for flavor.
Cook the lasagna pasta according to the package instructions. Meanwhile, sauté the chicken in butter along with onion and garlic until well browned. Add the broccoli and cook for 5 minutes until tender. Add parsley and seasonings to taste.
In a 9 x 13 inch baking dish, place a layer of sauce, a layer of mozzarella cheese, a layer of pasta, and then the chicken with broccoli. Repeat this sequence to form several layers, and finish with a generous layer of mozzarella cheese.
Freeze the lasagna to allow the flavors to meld and then bake at 350°F (175°C) for 50 minutes, or until bubbly and the cheese is golden brown. Let it rest for a few minutes before serving to enjoy a delicious and flavorful chicken and broccoli lasagna.
