Beef and broccoli stir-fry in oyster sauce is a very popular dish in Asian cuisine, especially in Chinese gastronomy. This quick stir-frying technique is used to preserve the texture and freshness of the ingredients, achieving a perfect balance of flavors. In different Latin American countries, this dish is generally known as "salteado de res con brócoli" or simply "beef with broccoli," although in some places they also adopt the original English name "stir fry" due to international influence.
Its origin lies in Cantonese cuisine, where oyster sauce is a fundamental element that provides a unique umami flavor. Over time, this recipe has become popular and adapted in many parts of the continent, adding local ingredients or varying techniques depending on the region. However, the traditional preparation method and the combination of beef and broccoli in this sauce remain the most valued aspects. It is a nutritious dish, quick to prepare, and perfect for sharing with family or friends.
