Apple crisp, known in various Latin American countries as crunchy apple pie or apple crumble, is a traditional dessert with its roots in English cuisine. Its popularity is due to its simplicity and comforting flavor, combining fresh fruit with a crunchy topping of flour, sugar, and butter. In different parts of Latin America, this dessert may have small variations, but it maintains the essence of its texture and flavor:
In Mexico and Argentina, for example, it is usually simply called "apple crumble," while in Chile and Colombia it can be found as "crispy apple" or "simple apple pie." Its origin dates back to colonial times when English settlers adapted European recipes with the available local ingredients, thus giving life to this delicious combination that has transcended borders.
