Amish style pot roast

History and origin of Amish-style pot roast

Amish-style pot roast is a traditional dish that comes from the Amish community, known for their simple customs and agricultural lifestyle in the United States. This recipe reflects the tradition of slowly cooking cuts of meat in homemade and nutritious preparations, using basic but very flavorful ingredients.

In Latin America, this type of stew may have different names depending on the country and its culinary customs. For example, in Mexico, it could be related to "caldo de res" or "carne en su jugo," while in countries like Argentina or Chile, a slowly cooked roast might resemble "guiso de carne" or even variations of "asado al horno." However, the Amish style is distinguished by the specific combination of ingredients such as coffee and soy sauce, which are not common in traditional Latin American preparations.

This recipe is an example of how culinary traditions can cross borders and adapt to different cultures, preserving their essence of flavor and technique.
